About

Everyone needs a place to think about the world. What better location to reflect then at a small breakfast cafe with the smell of hot coffee and pancakes hanging in the air.

Our family has a long tradition of eating breakfast. Virtually every day for several generations, all forms of the morning meal have been appreciated regularly. Heading into the new millennium, Sam’s #3 was the diner of choice for the Denver branch of the Banas family. Even as toddlers, Emily and Alyssa begged to go with dad on an outing to Sam’s. This fall we picked the tradition back up with Friday Breakfast. Now living in the Seattle area, we are working our way through the many tasty eateries in the greater Puget Sound. Friday Breakfast is part restaurant review, part reflection on changes in the world and fully an invitation into our conversation.
